Mike spent 28 years working with the Oregon Department of Transportation. He retired as the Senior Hazardous Materials Specialist.

During his tenure with ODOT, Mike played a key role as a consultant to the University of Missouri Team that developed the US DOT HAZ-MAT Training Materials from 1991-1994. He also helped in the development of the national training program for all inspectors in the United States.

Mike carries a distinctive smile that belies a practicality as a seasoned veteran in his field. He lays claim to being one of the first Nationally Certified Vehicle Safety Alliance Instructors. (CVSA)

Mike assists IXL Transportation Services in the capacity of Safety Director. In this role he trains all new drivers, keeps the drivers aware of new rules and is a key part of the Annual Drivers Meeting. He is also our go to person for tanker and hazardous materials related questions.
