When IXL began down the road of diversification, the first question asked was, "what could our trucks do during propane's slow season?" We arrived at the conclusion that general freight was the direction to go. We began by dedicating one of our trucks to a local broker. A couple of years later we purchased a curtain van and began our own dispatch with a variety of brokers.

Since those humble beginnings, the curtain van has left and much has been learned. We have one b-train and one 53 foot 4 axle, two 48 foot and one 45 foot currently available for use. We are able to serve the local market as well as the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Arizona and Colorado.

In 2004 the decision to grow general freight was given a boost by the addition Jon Simmons as General Freight Manager. Jon has developed a good relationship with several brokers and companies to move general freight. IXL is looking forward to growth in general freight and meeting the needs our customers.
